Jack Bauer may lose 24 hours of sleep worrying about suitcase nukes, but should his viewers?
Probably not, nuclear weapons experts say.

Nuclear bombs cleverly concealed in suitcases don't exist in real life. Even so, they have long been a popular Hollywood plot point.
.........
Arms control expert Charles Thornton of the Center for International and Security Studies at the University of Maryland calls the scenario "so highly unlikely as to be approaching fantasy."

Who needs suitcase nukes?

İmage

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor

The term suitcase nuke was part of the propaganda laid down during the cold war. Honestly, how would you shield the carrier of such from the radioactivity? You could probably spot them if you just followed the hair trail. chuckle.gif

Yeah, it was just more control through fear. Majority of the shipping containers brought in to this country go unchecked. Even if every one of them were checked, they are checked after docking. All you would have to do is detonate the damn thing before docking. You don't exactly have to be in the same building as your intended target.
