When it comes to global warming, Fido and Fluffy are part of the problem, a new study by UCLA indicates.

Most cat or dog lovers would say they can't imagine living in a world without pets, but as the threat of global warming increases, environmentally conscious pet lovers may need to make some tough choices, according to the study.

Pet ownership in the United States creates about 64 million tons of carbon dioxide a year, UCLA researchers found. That's the equivalent of driving 13.6 million cars for a year. The problem lies with the meat-filled diets of kitties and pooches, according to the study by UCLA geography professor Gregory Okin.

It went on to talk about consequent environmental impacts, including greenhouse gas emission and feces production... shit-hits-the-fan.gif

Your furry family members are apparently out to destroy us all! It's not just their fur that's causing global warming. So is their breath, etc.

Oh noes! The study actually exists 'fur' real!! Somebody give me a blue pill stat. The red one is giving me side effects.

The published study says the author did this paper on his own dime from his normal UCLA salary. Hey admins in personnel, that was a nice hire you made there. If you're looking for a way to reduce costs, there is your man.

Good catch! Bravo! Looks like the author is trying to put one over on the public.

When they catch him shooting cats with a pellet gun his defense will be that he was just trying to save the planet.

Considering most pet foods contain leftovers (byproducts) of what people normally consume, 25 - 30% sounds outrageously high. wtf2.gif

I have reconsidered my position.

I believe global warming is greatly impacted by dogs. More specifically, dog farts.

Come on...

We've all suffered through them.

If ANYTHING can burn through the ozone and cause global warming it is those vile colon concoctions that silently spew from dog asses.

Global warming is bullshit.

Global warming may be questionable, but climate change is definitely happening.

It sure is. For example yesterday it was raining, but now it's sunny. Oh wait, that's weather, not climate change. Climate change refers to more drastic weather shifts. Such as we have only had one hurricane in the last 12 years in the entire state of Florida.

Even though temperature gauge monitoring has been exposed as being manipulated, fudged and faked as being higher than the actual temperatures were, geologic records indicate that our climate in recent times has been much cooler than it was when there were no cars, trucks, factories and power plants.

Keep in mind that there are huge amounts of money attached to the climate change meme that is being pushed and publicized. Universities get grants based on its supposed existence. They get funded by organizations tied to industries that are prepared to make a fortune playing off of "climate change." (It really should be called Climb it, Dollars!) Even the 5G debacle is tied into it, with promises of more efficient use of fuel with driverless cars and trucks. The 5G scam is a $7 trillion dollar monster.

Meanwhile, Al Gore's home in Tennessee used 43 times the amount of electricity as does the average home in the US and probably hundreds of times the average worldwide. Since Climb it, Dollars is a worldwide theme, comparing his usage with homes worldwide is a more accurate way to assess his devil may care usage, while he rides in corporate jets and has reaped hundreds of millions of dollars for himself telling others how to live and selling carbon credits.

Can't say much for your argument. You didn't even mention his private jet he takes all around the world or the zinc mines he owns that are polluting the environment.

They say if you are thinking pure ecological thoughts while blowing holes in the ozone layer in your corporate jet, there are no calories or carbon added. I's like eating a bag of chips while driving home after grocery shopping. Those calories don't count. lmao.gif
