Fertilizer/phone giant Nokia has settled a suit with Apple over IPR.

Royalty payments could result in Apple shelling out quarterly payments of $162m to Nokia, pretty substantial. They crawled in bed with windows not long ago, it will probably be another positive for them.

I doubt that will help the overall economy much though 13.gif

Quote:In the settlement, Apple agreed to pay Nokia a lump sum and running royalty fees. Details of the agreement are not being disclosed to the public. Nokia nevertheless says that the agreement will have a positive impact on the company’s second quarter results

Hey Bohica, how's your summer going? beercheer.gif

Based on telephoning?!?
Yup, let's all chop wood for each other.

Just wait 'til the cellphone business gets held responsible for
the EM allergies, brain tumours, thyroid diseases, joint problems
etc etc etc they cause.

Talk about billions.

EM allergies, brain tumors, thyroid diseases, joint problems, add bee deaths, mouth and throat cancer, suspected infertility and god knows what else. When we began using microwaves for something beside rendering everything we eat non nutritional, we created a whole new set of problems and ways to kill ourselves. coffeetime.gif

Well...I've decided to send my old Nokia to the Ekorosk waste station,
as soon as prepaid gets outlawed. And I won't get a new one.

Will be bloody interesting to live without it.

The first I've heard about this, is it something thats happening in Finland ?

If people used their mobile less, the pace of life might slow down a little, which is a good thing.

Summer? Spring has just arrived, and I just broke out with Poison Ivy. I hope to retire this month.

Prepaid is not going to be outlawed, they want a human name they associate it with, they will make you use an id. They want to be able to tap your phone and know definitively it's you.

They. 13.gif

Ahhh retirement. I'm ready too.

It is in the plans, yes.
Some talk of it already seen in the MSM.

The anonymous (which is why I chose it to begin with -
didn't have to put my name down anywhere) prepaid
option is going to disappear.
It's just a question of time.

Poison Ivy?
That's one thing we don't have around here...painful?
Here's to your hope of retirement, Bohica cheers.gif
May it come true, if that is what you wish :)

Yup...They.
The Powers That May or May Not Be muahhahh!

Dammit, traitors are in office - evil closing, South and
North. Who'll help me hold the fort..?
