Seems you have some imagination but no idea how to commun icate it. Redo it. Put the pitcher into the picture. I wonder if the handle is like that or you can't draw a curve. The pink is awful, why so ğkking much of it? No focus, no perspective, no balance. is that a pear? Delineate it, it looks like part of the pitcher. Puerile. sorry. If you redid it without cutting off the handle, took out 80% of the pink, made the flowers less faded, you'd have a cool painting. Hope ypou don't take this wrong.

I intentionally like to cut off the object/view - I like going against what everyone thinks others should do; it's called uniqueness or being a one-of-a-kind. I am also a colorist, obviously you are not. I can certainly draw a curve but choose to draw as I feel. Free self-expression. Don't take this wrong, but if I did it by your standards then I would not have a cool piece - it would be a common run-of-the-mill piece.

Have a nice day.

Experimenting with new media isn't exactly a cakewalk. I thought it was very cool and brave of US to show us her stuff. Pastels aren't easy to work with and I used to teach art students!

Yeah show us how it's done AK. 13.gif

It's interesting how different works are critiqued: Edvard Munch

Quote: The following year, he exhibited ‘The Study’ – which was later known as ‘The Sick Child’ – which triggered a negative review in the Norwegian criticism. In short, Munch was accused of exhibiting unfinished paintings which should never be shown outside his own studio...

Octo, do you think there's too much gray in Munch's piece with lady? Is that an orb?

lmao.gif Back when I was in art history, one of the girls in class was talking about Edvard Munch... she pronounced his last name with a diphthong... like munchies. doobie.gif chuckle.gif
Most of the people in class busted out laughing, she never got why I don't believe.

In other words, if you can't do it become a critic.

Thank you MB, that's what's it all about for me - to keep those creative juices flowing.
