Can't let one persons opinion make or break you for sure, I liked it very much while I can't stand the frauds of the art world, like the pretentious Jackson Pollock:
İmage
Or in particular Cristo:
İmage
wtf2.gif He covers everything in a tarp like he's going in to spray for cockroaches? That's BS, at least yours is from the heart, and has excellent color composition.
Believe me, I sat through enough art history to know whats real and whats total crap. My advice is keep it up and let nobody deter you US.

I never personally insinuated anything of the kind. The statement - Can't let one persons opinion make or break you was not reflective of you personally, I was making a general statement because art IS subjective.

Believe me, I know - I went to art school, worked for several years as a graphic artist, did advertising, worked on an animated TV series and am currently involved in graphics for an animated music video.

Just because you don't care for something does not make you an asshole, at least in my book. In fact, I used world famous artists Jackson Pollock and Cristo to illustrate that point, the art world loves it, and I have no use for it whatsoever.

Ok it's not up to me to respond, but my guess is honest opinion. However, if all art were to your liking the art world would be pretty goddamn boring don't you think.

I really wasn't soliciting criticism nor looking for approval. I simply was showing Octo and JR my latest art adventure. So, I would select #4: Generate a discussion re: art and have some fun.

One of my faves by her was Gothic landscape -
İmage
She had a bit of influence on me when I went through my abstract dabbling. Did most of that when I was tripping.

I used to like Paul Klee, but when I read a book where it said he thought he received his inspiration from aliens and he and his wife got drunk to name the paintings he became a favorite. lmao.gif

I've done artwork in/using various forms all my life
been told I should save/exhibit/sell it
never do

lol..

the one thing that impressed me most was going to dad's one day and seeing there an artwork I had done when little
which he had purposely saved

as an adult few years back I suprised him with another for his birthday

my favorite tool out of them all to work with is-pen
is more challenging
you cannot erase & must strive for perfection as you work

.
