Posti is an interesting 'Finnish only' phenomenon. It's a private company that took over the govt run post office several years ago as everyone believed privatization would lead to better service.
Then, along came the internet and in a few years *poof* regular mail traffic took a huge hit.
So did Posti's bottom line.
To attempt to correct the monetary dilemma, Finland’s Posti has announced that it is “reforming” its mail delivery service on Tuesdays in order to cut costs.
Meaning standard letters and magazines will not be delivered on Tuesdays. It will however, still deliver parcels, newspapers and express letters.
Posti, in an apparent attempt to diversify operations to the friggin' max, will be offering a lawn mowing service next month in an effort to raise money.
I was an expert in delivering newspapers and mowing lawns when I was 10.

Posti: Up to 370 newspaper delivery jobs to be cut

Finland's national mail company Posti has announced it will soon begin cooperation negotiations affecting hundreds of its newspaper delivery workers in the Uusimaa area, a move which could result in the slashing of up to 370 jobs.

Citing a continual drop in newspaper subscription figures, the company said that the per-unit cost of delivering newspapers is on the rise.

Quote:The postal operator also maintained. “In practice, the change will affect mail recipients very little, because traditionally less mail is delivered on Tuesdays than on other days.”

I think it sounds nice not to have mail delivered on Tuesdays. It's most likely bills anyway

All that ever comes in the mail here is bills. Packages always come through UPS and FedEx.

Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor

We order shit all the time and it rarely gets delivered through the regular mail.
JR did order some stuff that was delivered through regular mail recently. They rang the doorbell and brought that huge box up
