An equinox is the moment in which the plane of Earth's equator passes through the center of the Sun's disk, which occurs twice each year, around 20 March and 23 September.

On an equinox, day and night are of approximately equal duration all over the planet. They are not exactly equal, however, due to the angular size of the sun and atmospheric refraction. The word is derived from the Latin aequinoctium, from aequus (equal) and nox (genitive noctis) (night).

It was a beautiful day and on our way through the neighborhood the evening sun hit this maple so magically I had to hop off my bike to snap this:

Have a great weekend  cheers.gif

I can't explain the reason why??
Every time we fly over the equator over Singapore going north to my country.....
We feel quite a strong bump as we cross the equator.
I have no under standing of the scientific reasons why???
But only feel the strong bump when we cross the equator going up...
On the way back when we come downwind we only feel like a very very light bump over the equator ... Sometimes nothing at all
I am puzzled how intrigue God made the universe for us

Unfortunately the sun isn't out today, it's completely overcast, but no rain nor wind. Autumn colors stand out so much nicer in sunshine...

From our walk along the river today: The mountain ash or Rowan are full of berries this year

Maybe they think there's pot in those potholes  13.gif

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to see poop in our national news. That is really rare.

Quote:Pre-hibernation bear binges on berries - dumps purple porridge surprise

The bear responsible for the meadow muffin had apparently gorged on a large amount of lingonberries before making the deposit.

According to Immonen, the stool was larger than a size 44 boot and undigested lingonberries and blueberries could be seen in the colourful mass.
