Some sweet hardware for sure. But the most important thing is:

What OS will you be using??

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bits is whats going to be on there.

I use 3D programs like MB3D, Bryce7pro, Sculprtis. JWildfire. AutoCAD. Mostly everything I do is offline desktop work. So I just stayed with what I already knew.

Windows 7 plays pretty nicely in a dual boot situation. Ever considered using Linux?

Lots of free/paid commercial software available today. Mint Linux is fairly easy to install and use.

When you get it just NEVER go online and you shouldn't have any problems.
or... buy a good antivirus program and install it right away.

dunno if you're going to be able to render your art faster with that system because your gpu is low end and not suited for such things. your processor is okayish and the ram is definitely enough. - so your gpu is the only problem. according to nvidia it is just 70% faster in gaming than integrated graphics solutions. chuckle.gif

here is my build:

intel core i7-4790
asus gtx 970
16 gb ram

cost me only EUR 1000.00 (USD 1100.00) - which is pretty cheap: similar systems cost about 20% more. the only thing that sucks is that my mainboard is a bit crappy because it only supports 16 gb of ram and it has insufficient slots for my needs. 13.gif
anyway. im able to play everything on "ultra" again. which is good. because "high" sucks. lol.gif

oh but in case it runs planetside 2 (which is free to play) go to the connery server and create a vanu character... octo is there too but hasn't played much because she can't run it. i set up a kb outfit and haven't played on that server since. 13.gif
another server i play more regularly on is cobalt because it's situated in europe and therefore has the better ping.
