I live in upstate NY. Every year after the weather has warmed up, I get serenaded by the frogs in the woods at night. This year nothing! Is it just here or has anyone else noticed their absence?

wave.gif Hey Whimsy! Long time no see. We only see them out at our cabin, and we aren't really going there now as we live so far out we are in the woods as it is.
Interesting observation though. Frogs are indicative of how clean and good the environment is.
Lack thereof means trouble on some level.

Hey Whimszy hug.gif

That's a little disturbing to say the least. I understand it's been colder than usual up there, maybe they're just late? uhoh.gif

Or mating will be delayed due to drought...was it a dry year last year, same with this Spring?

I'm more a lurker then a poster! wave.gif cheers.gif

As for the weather here, was a little cold last week, but not excessive. When it’s warm enough to sit on the porch at night, they are usually there. Guess I will keep listening for them. Seems the woods are just to quite.

We were pretty normal last year with rainfall. As for this spring, it has been a nice steady fall of rain. The garden and the lawn have loved it.

So, it could be the sharp change from cold to warm. Keep us posted.
