Sure didn't expect that to happen. Holy cow!

The opening safety was like a bad omen.

It was like 11 against 1 when the Seahawks were on defense. Manning didn't have much of a chance to do anything.

Apparently his receivers were covered long. and short they had a hard time even getting a first down.

How in the world did the center snap the ball when he did?

All year long Manning would come up and call the play or change it and the center didn't do that. He gets in the Superbowl and does something you'd expect to see in the pee wee league on the very first play of the game from scrimmage.

It set the tone for the entire game.

Sure there is an award for most valuable player.

Is there an award for least valuable player?

I nominate the Broncos center for committing the Leonard Marshall play of the year, only worse.

that was only 2 points + the 3 points after they punted. There's plenty of blame to go around. Less than stellar blocking...less than stellar passing...less than stellar kickoff coverage...less than stellar pass rush...less than stellar tackling. Peyton and many other QBeez around the league can overcome a 5 point deficit...so the center's mistake is really only highlighted because of it being the first play of the game. Peyton is a top professional and just didn't/couldn't play his style of ball with people in his face and especially after the one play where he completed a pass...but ended up with 300 lbs on top of him for it. No time for Peyton in the pocket=Bronco loss.

You lasted 2 quarters longer than the Broncos did AND at least you didn't lose friends over it.
