We now have some more serious weather happening. Currently it is very dark with one hell of a storm going on and heavy hail. The wind is gusting very strongly.

Most of the country is on flood alerts with even Somerset declaring a serious danger to towns.

Weather Warning

Saturday 25th January 2014

AMBER WARNING of RAIN for Somerset.

More heavy rain will spread east across the area on Sunday. Given the current disruption on the Somerset Levels, the public should be prepared for further flooding.

Valid Sunday from 0600 until 1400.

Saturday 25th January 2014

YELLOW WARNING of ICE for western Scotland and northwest England

Wintry showers during the second half of Saturday will leave roads wet in places with a risk of icy stretches forming as temperatures dip below freezing.

The public should be aware of the potential for some disruption to travel.

Valid from 1600 Saturday to 0700 Sunday.

Saturday 25th January 2014

YELLOW WARNING of RAIN for south Wales and southern England.

Another spell of wet and windy weather will cross the UK from the west during Sunday. Heavy rain and strong winds are likely to affect many parts for a time, with further flooding anticipated, either as a result of surface water flooding or exacerbation of existing flooding issues.

The public should be aware of the potential for disruption. This updates the warning originally issued on Wednesday, extending the risk area further east across southern England.

Valid on Sunday from 0700 to 2345.

Saturday 25th January 2014

YELLOW WARNING of SNOW for Scotland and northern England

A band for rain and snow will cross Scotland and northern England on Sunday. The snow will affect the higher routes across central and southern Scotland and northern England with some drifting in the gale force winds that will accompany the snow. The snow will clear from many areas during the first half of Sunday afternoon but may be more persistent for parts of the Highlands.

The public should be aware of the potential for disruption to travel as well as difficult driving conditions with risk of blizzards at times.

Valid from 0700 Sunday to 0600 Monday.

Saturday 25th January 2014

YELLOW WARNING of RAIN for Northern Ireland.

Another spell of wet and very windy weather will cross Northern Ireland from the west during Sunday morning. The public should be aware of the potential for disruption due to localised flooding.

Valid from 0400 Sunday until 0900 Monday.

Saturday 25th January 2014

YELLOW WARNING of WIND for western Scotland and the Northern Isles.

Winds will increase through Sunday across the north of Northern Ireland, the west of Scotland and the Northern Isles. Gale or severe gale force winds are possible from Sunday afternoon through into Monday morning, perhaps particularly for the western and northern Isles, with the potential for gusts in excess of 70 or even 80 mph at times.

Heavy rain will be an additional hazard, primarily towards the south of this area, for which see separate warning.

The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to travel.

Valid from 1200 Sunday until 0900 Monday.

Saturday 25th January 2014

YELLOW EARLY WARNING of RAIN for Scotland

A band of rain and hill snow will become slow moving across Angus and Perth and Kinross on Monday and into Tuesday. This rain will fall on to already saturated ground.

The public should be aware of the potential for localised disruption due to flooding.

Valid from 1300 Monday to 2200 Tuesday.

Here we go again!!!!!!

'APOCALYPTIC': Storm Brigid rages towards UK bringing 150MPH KILLER winds, rain and SNOW!!!!

A VIOLENT and destructive storm is hurtling across the Atlantic and will smash into Britain tomorrow.

İmage

The entire country faces at least three days of torrential downpours, savage 150mph gales and weeks of relentless flood misery.

Storm Brigid is expected to hit UK shores in the early hours of tomorrow before the full force of the onslaught rips into the country on Saturday.

Experts say it threatens to cause destruction on a par with the ferocious October St Jude’s Day Storm and subsequent Storm Emily which hit in December.

It came as figures show some areas of England have already had their wettest January since records began.

The Met Office said much of the south and Midlands already had twice the average rainfall for January by midnight on Tuesday - with three days still left in the month.

Several inches of rain are likely to fall in a matter of hours through the next few days, sealing the record for England’s wettest winter in history.

So far eight inches of rain have fallen since the beginning of December, with just eight more needed to beat the 1914/15 record of 16.

Officials have warned Britain will be crippled by frenzied winds capable of up ripping trees and tearing roof slates from buildings.

Rivers already close to overflowing are likely to burst their banks sparking a torrent of flood warnings and alerts across the nation.

Forecasters have warned a run of storms are lined up in the Atlantic threatening torrential rain and gales for at least a week.

Swathes of the country have been left under inches of water after heavy and relentless rain which has held out for weeks.

Government forecasters have issued a raft of severe weather warnings for rain today and tomorrow across the south with more than an inch expected.

There are also warnings for severe gale-force winds and potentially destructive waves along the west coast at the weekend.

A further Met Office warning has been issued for snow across Scotland tomorrow with brutal gales expected to trigger blizzards.

shocked.gif APOCALYPTIC? 150 mph are insanely high wind speeds, and after it's over they will strut around say it was caused by global warming.
