The U.S. authorities approved to grant 400 M1A1 Abrams tanks to the Greek Army.
By all means, what a sound financial decision to sell four hundred Abrams tanks to an insolvent country that can not pay its debts, or even pensions.
A huge financial crisis on the immediate horizon and Greece goes in debt for billions of Euros for 400 Tanks. That's suspicious.
Is total chaos financial and social collapse is on the way, or is it an IMF hidden hand loan where they provide tanks they can't pay for and then pressure them to attack another enemy of the month for the debt to be forgiven?

No just tanks, lookie here

In a bizarre twist to the Greek debt crisis, France and Germany are pressing Greece to buy their gunboats and warplanes, even as they urge it to cut public spending and curb its deficit.

Indeed, some Greek officials privately say Paris and Berlin are using the crisis as leverage to advance arms contracts or settle payment disputes, just when the Greeks are trying to reduce defense spending.

I'm thinking the cost of getting bailed out is to spend the bailout bucks on what the lenders want it spent on...their economy. It's like getting a Canadian Tire credit card. "Sure we'll extend you credit if you buy from us". right? wrong? dunno.gif

Funny this one is

What once was native to only a Country suppressing it's own protest by the Peasants,
Time is now,
that other far ranging Nations will kick in support to suppress Foreign Peasants.

Kinda like having a Global Nazi Storm Trooper Squad to control the entire Human Race.

Weird World

I wonder what it's for?
heh heh heh

I am so Glad i just bought a nice open Ocean Sailboat, Hard for these Storm Troopers
to drive an Abrams Tank onto my deck

I'll Have to Sail it out of reach of their Cannon is all.

heh heh heh

Seems to be the goal with that Rog. One big gigantic police state can't be too far away. sad2.gif

Interesting thread though, started to dig around for the sake of curiosity and found some interesting data here: nationmaster.com

The screen shot below demonstrates that 400 more tanks for Greece would bring the total to a whopping 2.123 13.gif That makes it the second largest tank force in Europe.

Right. And they need that because???

If it isn't crowd control on a massive level, it's the US securing their interests at the expense of the Greek citizens.

None of this makes any sense, but regardless of outcome the Greeks get screwed.
