Prisoners, whose ranks increasingly consist of those for whom the legitimate economy has found no use, now make up a virtual brigade within the reserve army of the unemployed whose ranks have ballooned along with the U.S. incarceration rate. The Corrections Corporation of America and G4S (formerly Wackenhut), two prison privatizers, sell inmate labor at subminimum wages to Fortune 500 corporations like Chevron, Bank of America, AT&T, and IBM.

sad2.gif costs about $40k per year to incarcerate someone, now these corp.s are using them for labor? Mind boggling.

The new normal, wait until the Privatization on the prison system happens. Where it will be mandatory to 90% capacity, you know, for shareholders.İmage

there goes the return of mass manufacturing for the western world as a much needed economical boost and the continual poverty of those low skill workers in our societies who lost their jobs and the breakdown of their families etc etc........

I can see by your coat my friend you're from the other side. Just one thing I got to know. Who won?

here in the uk the prisoners get luxury. training, social care, internet, tv - people actually want to go to prison here! In fact what an interesting idea? A life of freedom but incredible poverty as inflation causes living costs to be unobtainable or a long jail sentence for continal criminal offences which result in basic healthcare and provision and a working programme.

povert or jail anyone?

It's the same damn thing here except you can add free college degrees if they want 'em. That's why, except for the victimless criminals, I say ğck 'em. Whatever amount is charged for each PRISONER should be deducted from the amount the government pays for their upkeep. Let the mother fuckers earn their keep. Prison should not be considered a vacation.

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor
