what's up with all those remakes lately anyway? did they run out of ideas?

I love Japanese monster movies and the old and more recent Japanese Godzilla films but most of them have okay to bad to terrible special effects and the 1990s American Godzilla remake with Mathew (bueller!) Broderick sucked and shows Godzilla wrongly running around on four legs when we all know that Godzilla is bipedal and so Godzilla needed and now has a more accurate remake with modern CGI and a Hollywood big budget and i aint complaining and this will help everyone to remember that Godzilla is a terrible avenging symbol born from atomic weapons and our maniacal nuclear megalomania...

Yes i have twice and thats a good example from many others of how the far eastern countries like south korea, hong kong, china and japan have improved their film making techniques by leaps and bounds within around the past ten or fifteen years...

It's not a remake at all. It's a completely new story possibly based on the script that wasn't used for the first usa godzilla.
There were two scripts, one of which involved Alaska. I'm not sure if they're using fukushima as a point in this new one. The entire thing has been completely shrouded in secret since day one.

Toho gave the rights again because they have retired godzilla. There hasn't been a new godzilla film since Final Wars.2004

Watch Cloverfield again. They completely ripped off the Hosts design, and kind of made it like godzilla. Monster comes out of the water, crushes city. I was appalled, and sure they would be sued by numerous entities for such blatant plagiarism. .

Pffft...Broderick. I saw Ferris Bueller's Day Off...ONCE. I put up with him in Glory as I really liked the movie and supporting cast...but would have no problem seein someone else in his role. Then...they get all sacrilege and try to tarnish the good Godzilla name with that abomination remake. Oh yeah...I watched it...ONCE and even though I love me some Godzilla...I don't even stop to watch bits n pieces of it when it's rerun on TV now. I know I know...it's just a Godzilla movie...but Mathew Broderick? I would have been more entertained with Paul Rubens in his Pee-wee Herman role with those awesome big ass 70's white platform shoes.

Heres two more awesome trailers recently released for this new Godzilla - 2014 in 3-D that certainly looks like its quickly gearing up to become a really big early summer blockbuster and a spectacular reboot "an epic rebirth" and 30th film! for this long lasting cult franchise and considering how the few teasers so far available for viewing have already reached around 50,000,000 youtube views! this king of the monsters movie is going to be very popular worldwide!
