It's about us trying to coral nature completel, and failing. And tthat includes numerous things. From nuclear power, to oil to, blowing shït up, we shouldn't.

Well, I have not seen the movie, but if Godzila is reptilian and came out of the sea, then would it not stand to reason that since the ocean temperatures are rising that perhaps the warmth descended into the depths of the sea to awaken it out of it's deep freeze? Grasping for a reason here. chuckle.gif

Nahhhh. According to this movie, he's ancient. Prehistoric. He lives as close to the earth core as possible, most of the time. He only comes to the surface this time, for a very specific reason.
It's almost a primal reason.

Didn't read the article, but I've seen every godzilla movie ever made, at least twice, if not dozens of times.
Already saw the new one three times, and it only opened four days ago..... Yes really.
He's magnificent. I want to see it on the big screen, as many times as possible, before it disappears.
The message is, not everything is what it appears to be, and false flags and lies, DO abound. Much is hidden from us, by the powers that be.
There is nothing about global warming here.
It's about mans abuse of nature and power. Power we cannot control.
Balance will come naturally, if we allow it.

The most telling line in the movie is serizawa saying, : man's arrogance is thinking he controls nature, and not the other way around.
It makes you question, was that really an earthquake?
As he absolutely took poetic license with fukushima and maybe the eq of Dec 26, in southeast Asia, of almost 15 years ago?

The movie blew captain America and spiderman out of the water, box office wise btw, and there's already a sequel in the works.
Theres many other stand alone awesome Japanese giant monster movies besides Godzilla like Rodan and Mothra and Ghidorah The Three Headed Monster and War Of The Gargantuas to name a few...

Quote: Godzilla Mothra And King Ghidorah - 2001 >

After countless movies of outrageous machines and fantastic monsters, Shusuke Kaneko finally brings realism back to the Godzilla series. The monsters are all well fleshed out. Godzilla is the harbinger of forgotten souls taking their revenge on Japan. The Guardian Monsters are creatures that were killed long ago and await the time when they'll be awakened to defend their homeland. When Baragon's marching through the forest, birds are seen taking off in front of the giant creature, something logical that hasn't been seen in a Godzilla movie.

So what's your verdict on this movie compared to the other Godzilla flicks?

I loved it, but then I loved Final Wars, which is considered verboten.
He's pure CGI, but it's so good, you never get that CGI feeling. It's like he's really there.
His demeanor.... Reminded me... Slightly of Gamera. Gamera is the Guardian of the universe, and children.
Godzilla goes from being a good guy, to a bad guy, in the Japanese ones.
So, they had a fine line to play with, and I think they did it beautifully.
Gareth only got permission to use godzilla in this one, so you don't see any of his classic foes. Unlike the first American zilch flop of 98,he does have a foe in this one.
Part of the issue with the 98 zilch, is that he was solo, so that movie was all about him destroying stuff and spawning.
Boring. This one, he has a purpose, and he is the ultimate anti hero.
Given the success of this one, Toho will probably give permission for more monsters, and there will be more familiar faces in the next one.

Don't get me wrong, I love a guy in a godzilla suit, but this one.... After they retired him in 04,i thought I'd never see another new godzilla movie again. I was sniffling at the end.
I was so happy...
It's also a memory of my mom. My mom used to have to take me. No one under 18 allowed in without a parent. I was like 9...and I busted her balls til she would take me. She's seen many a martial art Kaiju film that way.

More like all things Asian. It was much more Chinese before the age of maybe 16,then I started turning Japanese :D
I didn't realize godzilla was Japanese until I was older.
Bruce Lee, run run Shaw, Jackie Chan, they were my all from the time I was, wow, five...
Godzilla came more like 9-10.when I discovered Toshiro Mifune and samurai movies, I was more like 16.
I went back and forth for years. Chinese stuff, Japanese stuff. After I went to Japan, it was just, Japa, but iI still have never been to HK. Kowloon does call to me.... The ultimate Chinatown.
