I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to stand up to bullies. Bullies abound. 13.gif

I saw that. That guy showed the one problem I have with internet anonymity. I'm all for privacy. I have no problem with using avatars and forum names. The problem is that it enables internet bullies and tough guys that you know would be too chicken shït cowardly to say those things in person.

Why should they go out to fight?

I once had an obese girlfriend and when we would walk down the street together (me being slim at that time) women passing us would actually say derogatory statements about her being fat and threw in the word ugly for good measure (she was not ugly). I was shocked when this happened the first time and asked her if this was common, she said it was.

She was so bullied by other people that she took steps to have her stomach stapled, which helped a little. In her case, though, I think it was not so much an overeating thing as a metabolism thing.

Hi Shadow, it definitely is easier with a little help from family and friends.

Quote:

Remember it's not about you.
Dellasega says that often when someone experiences bullying, "the biggest burning question is, 'why is this happening to me?'" But, she says, most bullying comes from a bully's issues, not from any characteristics of the victim. "This isn't about you in particular," she says, "and you shouldn't feel embarrassed or ashamed." Bullying can hurt, but remember — whether you're in the lunchroom, the nursing home, or anywhere in between, the bully's the one with the problem, not you.

There is some good advice in that column, esp. the part where we should not let our emotion's get out of control.

Agreed Kreeper. I'm sure our nightly troll is not the piece of shït in the real world as he is when he comes in here and LOP trying to advertise his dead forum. If he was, he wouldn't have any fingers left to type with. I think for the most part, everyone in here are themselves - the same people in real life as they are on the forum, with the same responses.
Not everyone is like that though. Lot's of game players and bullies, that would never do such in reality find it all too comfortable to take advantage of the anonymity this type of venue provides.
