This could spread everywhere in Europe ultimately. I recently read Ohio is putting debtors in jail - though debtors prisons were abolished years ago.
I don't understand what the legal basis is for such, but somehow apparently laws are meaningless in today's bank controlled "governments".

Debtors prisons are illegal in the USA.

So, what the scum bag lawyers have done now, in order to get around that law, is they file a law suit against you. If they receive a Judgement in their favor and you are ordered to pay and you don't, then they just throw you in jail for "Contempt of Court" or "Failure to Comply With A Court Order".

That's how they get you in the USA now.

Loopholes and illusions, smoke and mirrors.

Sure looks like it. I read somewhere a few years back that Greece is essentially controlled by two families - Latsis and Papandreou. There are probably a handful of others too, but we aren't talking nuclear families but big clans...

Hey Jess! wave.gif Good to see you.

Interesting isn't it?

Quote:After the end of WWII the Greek-run fleets were able to re-establish themselves under their national flag. The changing dynamics saw them more closely aligned to their own national state, and the establishment of a Greek Merchant Marine service.

In recent years and in terms of ship categories, Greek companies have 22.5% of the world's tankers[4] and 16.8% of the world's bulk carriers (in dwt).[4] An additional equivalent of 20.05% of the world's tanker dwt is on order,[4] with another 12.1% of bulk carriers also on order.[4] Today, shipping is one of the country's most important industries. It accounts for 6% of GDP,[4] employs about 160,000 people (4% of the workforce),[5] and represents 1/3 of the country's trade deficit.[5] Earnings from shipping amounted to €15.4 billion in 2010,[4] while between 2000 and 2010 Greek shipping contributed a total of €140 billion[4] (half of the country's public debt in 2009 and 3.5 times the receipts from the European Union in the period 2000-2013).[4] A European Community Shipowners' Association report for 2010-2011 reveals that the Greek flag is the fifth-most-used internationally for shipping, while it ranks first in the EU;[4] the same ECSA report showed that there are approximately 750 Greek shipping companies in operation.

Counting shipping as quasi-exports and in terms of monetary value, Greece has ranked 4th globally in 2011 having "exported" shipping services worth $17,704,132; only Denmark, Germany and South Korea have ranked higher during that year.[6]

Tax exemptions:

Quote:There are several cases of Tax exemptions under the Greek taxation system, these are as follows:

Proceeds from the sale of shares that are traded on the Athens Stock Exchange.
Income from ships and shipping.
A dividend received from a Greek company.
Capital gain from sale of a business between family members, as defined by law.
