Would it be too late to plant garlic this time of year? 13.gif

Never mind, I just read about it myself. I think it's too late, it's almost November so there's very little time for them to develop roots.

Plant in the spring. I just buy a bulb at the supermarket, break it into cloves, and plant those.

If you wait until Spring, put the whole bulb in the freezer for a couple of weeks, it seems to be part of the growing cycle.

Get the bulbs at an organic/health food store, the quality will be there.

Beware any clean-shaven bulbs, it indicates "imported from China", at least over here.
The US Dept of Agriculture prohibits exposed roots on imported foods because the roots will contain soil from the country of origin.

I understand fall planted garlic is bigger and stronger than spring garlic so I would of course do it now. Or should have a couple of months ago 13.gif

We do have access to organic garlic at the regular store and it's required to label country of origin. I always read the labels.

I've never done fall garlic planting, but the source says you want time for the new plants to root before a freeze. I always do spring and just pop 'em in the ground.

My neighbors grow so much that I end up with more than I can use. Never bothered growing garlic but I grow some tasty organic tomatoes and red peppers.

Use only raw garlic for medicinal purposes.
Forget the capsules, they are ineffective.

Forgive me please. But listen to me.
Do not listen to others.
I know garlic like the proverbial parts of my body.
Plant now
Plant now
It will be ready in spring for munching.
I plant 600 cloves
But please, don't forget Bible.
You reap what you sow so sow well.
Must plant the biggest cloves you can find. Size matters always.
If you are a cold girl with a cold country please put sheets of warm glass on top the garlic. They love it keep warm with the sun on top of them.
Obrigado for talking for me.
Good bye.
Can you smell my garlic breath???
Haaaaaaaaaaah
