The closest grocery store to us is a Piggly Wiggly. It's about 2 miles away.

No, that was neither hilarious, amazing nor even a little exciting.

The first time we went there for groceries I immediately what?

Correct! I immediately checked out the beer selection.

What did I find?

ğkking beer of course. Duh.

No, that's not it either. Damn you're impatient...

What was so hilarious, amazing and very exciting was that this Bible belt grocery store has a growler program with about 8 different of micros on tap!

lmao.gif blink.gif cheers.gifcheers.gifcheers.gif

13.gif Rub it in beer snob. rofl.gif hi5.gif That's great!

Welcome back. 8 different micros on tap! They sure know how to do it right in that state. I'm jealous. Our convenience stores here in Canada aren't allowed to sell any type of liquour because they say it will make us all drink more due to the easy availability. 13.gif Idiots. (Unless it's in a store in the boodocks, then they can...makes no sense).

I hear that, we have our own problems here with self righteous fucktards making laws so all we can buy at the grocery store is piss water just a hair above Budweiser. 4,7% is high as it goes. That's barely beer for god sakes.
Under the guise of "us Christian do gooders and lawmakers feel you Finns have a drinking problem" they make these stupid laws, when in reality they want to force people who appreciate good beer, wine or liquor have to purchase it from Alko...the State run monopoly liquor store.
Beautiful. This has nothing to do with anything except rednecks who got elected channeling money to a state run monopoly, they are truly some sick people.

My beer store sells everything from 0.5% to 8.1% beer (I think that's the Black Supreme) coolers, wine, and hard liquor.

There is supposed to be a big farmer's market with local grown foods, but we have not made it there yet. We also have a place called 14 Carrot Whole Foods that sells all organic foods and even sells raw milk!

Now I'm getting worked up. 13.gif Not only do they restrict where we can buy it. I was watching a U.S. commercial for wine - buy 2 pay $5.00 each or something like that - a really good eal. So, I researched online why the wine in our stores are NEVER reduced to that amount. I read that the governments regulates the prices of alcohol to HELP US - bleh.gif - HELP us by keeping the cost high, so we will drink less.

Be grateful someone knows what's best for you. coffeetime.gif

Our previous health minister wanted to dilute our beer and she was a former MTV VJ (no formal education).

Alcohol content went down, but I bet the price didn't. And therein is the truth of the matter. They lowered the alcohol content to make you buy more.

The laws vary from state to state. Some states have state run liquor stores and some states allow liquor sales in private stores and grocery stores. Other alcohol laws can be very screwy.

I just want to buy it at a convenient location because I have a busy life and don't want to go to multiples locations. Also, I'm sick of paying high prices...they have a monopoly here in Ontario, Canada with the LCBO's.

Privately owned but licenced by the gov. God help you if you sell alcohol without asking and paying the gov for a licence first. There was a petition going around to privatize BCLCB but after seeing what happens with privatization these days... sad2.gif
