Yes I'm in a rural area and trees break in harsh storms, but we rarely have breaks in electricity. We have a hydro plant in the middle of town and we're living about 800 meters from it.

Yeah, I asked my handyman and the guy I bought the nails and shingles from and they both told me it is not needed, that the sun will melt the shingle bottom onto the wood.
