when I told "lets see how happy you are when you actually have what everybody else has"....
I said to them...
son.... I'll take your bad credit, your toxic relationships, and your job and your kid... any day of the week any time you want to give it to me, I'll trade places with ya"..

Lets see how happy YOU are (i said)....
When you get $889 a month..
When you live amongst drug addicts.
When you can't get healthcare.
When can't buy the things that you need and want.

When you live in the judgmental south , among the most judgmental crowd there is... white, republican, religious older southerners, and you get labeled as a
"weirdo" because you hang around too much, because you have nothing else to do with your time...
and they're too fucking stupid to understand why because the education sucks here, and they have nothing in their cultural history to accept other people, but rather a fucking history of being on the wrong side of the civil war and the civil Rights movement, and now the wrong side of the gay rights movement, and the wrong side of women's rights, and the wrong side yet again, for disabled people's rights.

let's see how happy you are, under those conditions.

The wrong side of the civil war? So your Grandpa was black and fought for the south?

the South was on the wrong side, by fighting for slavery.

I just tuck the bad hand and wrist into the jacket pocket,
raise my head
walk as proudly and relaxed
as this broken body can manage
...and feel no way.

Let them take me as I am, or not at all,
I don't give a red rat's ass anymore.

Just treat everyone as you would want to be treated,
and you should be OK.

Some days, I find it difficult to feel no way.
I have to smile, just because it feels good
to walk my forefathers' and -mothers' ground.
Sort of thank the gods of the Old Ones,
for legs still working.

I myself put me on the social spot I'm in.
And can't help the physical condition, so...
might as well not worry.
