Walpurgis Night (Walpurgisnacht) is a traditional spring festival on 30 April or 1 May in large parts of Central and Northern Europe. It is often celebrated with dancing and bonfires. It is exactly six months from All Hallows' Eve.

Observed by The Czechs, Dutch, Estonians, Finns, Germans, Latvians and Swedes.

You know what this means...

lol.gif Yeah we don't want anyone to feel left out lmao.gif

Too cold to get naked today, freezing wind with intermittent snow and hail showers. Almost nice when the sun is out though, at least from the inside looking out chuckle.gif beercheer.gif

Quote:In Finland, Walpurgis day (Vappu) is one of the four biggest holidays along with Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and Midsummer (Juhannus). Walpurgis witnesses the biggest carnival-style festival held in the streets of Finland's towns and cities. The celebration, which begins on the evening of 30 April and continues to 1 May, typically centres on copious consumption of sima, sparkling wine and other alcoholic beverages.

It's so typical for it to get really cold this time of year 13.gif The water temps here are probably +5 tops. No beach going here just yet.

I'm getting a donkey today, my neighbor has the sweetest little donkey, her name is Jillie and she's been in a wee pen for two years so I offered to keep her in my pasture. Once she's brushed and shed out a little I'll post a pic of her omg she's a sweet little thing. There's also a miniature pony named Sparky (in the same tiny pen belly deep in manure) that I'd love to have but my fences aren't good enough.

She's just the sweetest little creature, so gentle and huggable and yes, kissable chuckle.gif and her ears are as long as her legs rofl.gif

No bees yet, another 3 weeks at least I'd think. Though I did see a bumble bee yesterday and I've got flowers planted all over for them.

She's well fed and certainly not abused, just in this tiny shitty little pen and hasn't had green grass for years. My front yard would keep the miniature pony in, it's all stucco wire and about 2 acres, but I'd worry my dogs would go after him. He's just above knee high.

So, the forecast for Northern Europe, Finland in particular, is a marathon of drunken tomfoolery, while over in Canada, Shadow gets a new Ass.
We live in interesting times.

I'm in my seventh decade on Earth. I know things.

chuckle.gif Any day followed by a day off in Finland means there's gonna be drinking, loud obnoxious yelling, the sound of tires squealing and possible fireworks.
It's even worse if you go outside. chuckle.gif
