Scientists are saying that the Sun is in a phase of "solar lull" - meaning that it has fallen asleep - and it is baffling them.

History suggests that periods of unusual "solar lull" coincide with bitterly cold winters.

Quote:Rebecca Morelle reports for BBC Newsnight on the effect this inactivity could have on our current climate, and what the implications might be for global warming.

The implications for cap and trade...er... global warming are looking grim.
I've read scientists have theorized this is what happened during the "little ice age"

Quote:There is still a very poor understanding of the correlation between low sunspot activity and cooling temperatures.

During the period 1645–1715, in the middle of the Little Ice Age, there was a period of low solar activity known as the Maunder Minimum. The Spörer Minimum has also been identified with a significant cooling period between 1460 and 1550. Other indicators of low solar activity during this period are levels of the isotopes carbon-14 and beryllium-10.

hmm.gif They didn't get into the fact this is apparently cyclic in the article.
I don't think this is anything new.

Theres one thing i know for sure about the sun its intense glare is so damn bright i cant even look at it for even a second without suffering temporary blindness and so it seems to me to actually be a helluva lot closer and a helluva lot smaller than we are perhaps being misled to think and deceived to believe but might not be and its just so perfectly round it seems like an almost too good to be true fabricated simulation intentionally designed to be so damn bright constantly so we cant and wont be able to see whats beyond it during the daytime...
