Quote:As medical marijuana sales expanded into 20 states, legal weed was detected in the bodies of dead drivers three times more often during 2010 when compared to those who died behind the wheel in 1999, according to a new study from Columbia University published in the American Journal of Epidemiology.

“The trend suggests that marijuana is playing an increased role in fatal crashes,” said Dr. Guohua Li, a co-author and director of the Center for Injury Epidemiology and Prevention at Columbia University Medical Center. The researchers examined data from the federal Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), spanning more than 23,000 drivers killed during that 11-year period.

A separate study — also based on FARS data — found that in states where medical marijuana was approved, traffic fatalities decrease by as much as 11 percent during the first year after legalization.

lmao.gif NBC news is becoming like sensational conspiracy forums where the headline has NOTHING to do with the article.

In reality, the most commonly used tests check for metabolites, that may stay in the fat cells for a month or more after smoking.

Someone can smoke today then get into a fender bender 3 weeks from now, smoking nothing in the meantime, and they may still test positive for marijuana and have officials report that it was a factor in the accident, though they were no longer under the influence.

If alcohol remained in the bloodstream for the same amount of time as THC, I would estimate that well over 60% of drivers would test positive, which would lead to a slew of horribly uniformed propaganda based articles like this piece of shït.

Important to remember, it is MSM and they have proven time and time again, they don't possess the reading comprehension skills required to report factually and/or unbiased on anything.

Just like the NAZI's, they are only doing what they are told. coffeetime.gif

yup.gif Happens every day K.

It also didn't report that all pot smokers eventually die from something unrelated, sometimes even peacefully in their sleep.

That's 100% and nobody can deny that shït. bored.gif *sigh* It's relevant I tells ya!

The study also fails to mention if cannabis was the only substance found in these people causing accidents. My guess is consumption of prescription drugs also increases during the years.

I hate to keep picking on this scab of an article, but I have to point out, pot wasn't legal on Colorado until this year.

The statistics are from 2010, (that's four years ago FFS) and from California.

Any questions? lmao.gif

Quote:"Among dead male drivers, 4.0 tested positive for narcotics in 2010, up from 2.2 percent in 1999. Among female drivers killed, 7.6 percent tested positive for narcotics, up from 4.3 percent."

SO they claim pot is causing more deaths?

Nice apocalyptic level, larger than life Fail.

Narcotics are what's being studied, or
Quote:"non alcoholic."
as it calls it in another part of the article. rofl.gif wtf2.gif

By tossing in pot as a narcotic, you include everything that is not booze.

Prescription drugs, heroin, coke, acid, and for that matter, over the counter drugs. 13.gif

This article has little to do with pot, and even less to do with facts.

By this articles logic, If you were hit, and it was "non alcoholic" related than even texting could be lumped into pot fatality statistics. 15.gif

There should develop an experiment

one in which the World Suspends all studies for the next 25,000 years .

After which ,,,

We can study the results to discover whether or not we grew more intelligent .

" Next on Oprah ,,,, the question :::::::::::::::::::::::::::

" why are you stupid enough to watch this show ? "

and does it have anything to do with the fat cells you've collected in your brain ?
