Young Jimmy asked his dad : "Daddy where did humans come from?"

Father replies : "Son, we know that there was Adam and Eve and had babies. The babies grew up and had more babies, and so on"

Jimmy runs to his mum and asks : "Mum, where did humans come from?"

Mum replies : "From apes darling, first they were monkeys then monkeys became humans"

Jimmy turns to his dad again : "Dad, you lied to me"

"No son, your mum just told you only were she came from"

More like a politician of sorts chuckle.gif

Of the origins of mankind...I just don't know.
Evolution looks like a rather good theory, in
congruence with how processes generally
unfold in the world.

dunno.gif

Guess theory is the key word, though.

Of Adam and Eve, I only know that the Kalevala
story of Ilmatar and her sons is just as valid and
true as any Hebrew - or any other ethnic - tale of
human beginnings. That is 1 absolutely indisputable
fact, if you ask petit moi.

Hey

What's the big fuss about Adam & Eve versus evolution?

I'm serious now!!!!

What if I tell you I agree to both theories?

What if Adam and Eve were the first creatures to evolve as humans from apes, the missing links?
Would'nt both theories be correct then?

You mean a monkey gave birth to Adam, but God felt sorry for him for being too lonely so he took his rib and made him a companion? scream.gif

I think any creation myth makes just as much sense.

Octo dear,
No, I did not mean a monkey gave birth to Adam, I meant evolution took it's course and made a creature. If you want to call it a man, suit yourself, and if you want to give the man a name go ahead too, some did and called him Adam, but if want you're free to name him Rambo, Tarzan or even Ape if you like.

I do not know if God felt sorry for the chap, but my kind of attitude is that I accept that there are things that I do not understand and I allow room for possible understandings. I won't shut the doors to any truth that I can't handle. I'd rather wonder about a mystery than make fun of verses which could be seen through the eyes as childish.

Thomas Gold, a professor of astronomy, suggested in 1960 the hypothesis of "Cosmic Garbage", that life on Earth might have originated from a pile of waste products accidentally dumped on Earth long ago by extraterrestrial beings

Could it be that we actually evolved from aliens - just not in the manner we think?
