Between Octo's speeding ticket and this thread I have to laugh and comment. Being in Houston there is a very large Hispanic community. I get my vehicles repaired at a garage where there are 2-Hispanic guys that run the oil change only side of it.
These guys look a little intimidating but are good guys and always help me out when I need something done outside of their realm. I always give them a few dollars as a tip and thank them. Last weekend my daughter came in from college to get her car repaired under their warranty. I usually just throw my mountain bike in the trunk and ride it home if it's going to be a all day repair.
Anyway this guy from New York pulls in and wants a oil change. He starts talking to the Hispanic guys telling them he wants other work done also and attempted his Spanish. "When you change the Oil-O can you Rotate the Tires-O"....He added a -O to everything and waving his hands around like a excited Italian. The Hispanic was trying to keep a straight face and kept looking at me. I had to walk away so he wouldn't see me laugh. That New Yorker was so serious and looked relieved that he got the instructions correct.
That guy made a total fool out of himself, when you try and speak to someone in a foreign language I always let them know my Spanish or whatever is very limited.
btw after him talking to the Hispanic the Yonker came over to me and told me "I heard they do good work here"
I told him "No bueno de caca" and rode off
