Still talking about the weather eh?

That pie cabinet sounds divine. Any pics? Did the locksmith get it open? I had my pops antique trunk/chest for years, its about the same vintage, its at my mums now, I stayed with her for a few months years ago and I let her have it. But it used to not lock, and during the move to my mums the removal guys locked it, still cant open it.. It would cost a hundred bucks here to get a locksmith, almost not worth it..

Burp..

Why not google antique restorers and order yourself a set of skeleton keys for $15, or I did see a restorer who could make a custom key for you, but they need keyhole/shank measurements.

Three locksmiths could not get it open, nor could we with a sampler skeleton key set, so hubby had to remove chicken wire from front door and then removed the entire locking mechanism, which he said was seized (even after oiling/greasing it). So, I now have useable storage. BaconDance.gif

We also inherited a cedar hope chest and a wooden and leather trunk (looks like a pirates chest) which I can't find the keys for, but they are not locked at this point.

Here is a pic of it. with chicken wire still intact. I posted pics of it before somewhere here, but who knows where.

We were warned of a storm heading our way for Wednesday, but I can't complain of the weather - it's been a mild and dry winter.

It's been a pretty normal winter here. December was warmish, the 4th warmest one these past 10 years so it's nothing extreme.

Not even close to melting, we're below freezing for the next 10 days.
It snows a little every evening.
Kinda' ready for spring.
