By Steve Benen

Current funding for the federal government runs out a week from Thursday, just nine days from now, and it’s apparently up to House Republicans to avoid another government shutdown.

What could possibly go wrong?

The basic dynamic is pretty simple: the parties already agree on spending levels, but GOP lawmakers claim to be outraged by President Obama’s executive actions on immigration. A variety of congressional Republicans want to leverage a spending bill to undo the White House policy – a move that would guarantee that the government’s lights would go out on Dec. 11.

House GOP Leaders Trick 216 House Republicans into Accidentally Supporting Obama's Executive Amnesty

Stick a fork in it, it's done. They were put in there with a mandate to stop it and they wont. Not sure what kind of dirt the Dems have on cry.gif But it's big. I've said all along, the Dems want voters, the establishment GOP want lawn boys.
It's to the point where this does not even phase me. It's all very predictable, I contemplate of worst case scenario, and they play it out.
All I expected was BS and the GOP would cave in, two sides of the same corporate banking establishment coin. A two party "Democracy" lol.gif 15.gif

I hear that lovely christmas gift of a spending bill has some nice little features like bank gambling derivative bailouts or some such BS and gives the executive branch more power to spy on U.S. citizens... Gee, wonder what they're planning on for stocking stuffers, vaccines for obolacare? Oh yeah and they are blocking the legalization of cannabis in District of Columbia as frosting on the gingerbread...

If it's to be,
it's up to me.
