Why would there be a need to shut down parts of the internet if the ideology of the people that they are shutting down is as despicable as we are being told? Shouldn't the people be able to reject those ideas because the marketplace of ideas is functioning properly?
Perhaps the marketplace of ideas has not been functioning properly and is being controlled by left wing totalitarian forces, like most other marketplaces at the moment. Perhaps the real reason they are now clamoring for this tool is because they want to continue controlling this marketplace and there are too many real voices out there speaking truth to power and screwing up their desired monopoly on the human thought realm. Perhaps this is one of the reasons that the men and women who are now promoting this "solution" created ISIS to begin with.
I find it interesting that no one has pushed the idea of having a public review board to vet the material that they are suppressing. Hell, it should be put up for review and open to public commentary on the need to suppress, as after all, we are only dealing with the expression of ideas. Aren't we? But wouldn't all that destroy the real reason they are pushing this idea now?
