on a more serious note [maybe] ; I don't think making effort to feed the basics of life to children is a good idea.
Kids have a special learning ability, it's like magnetic; their brain is a suction bank were it stores examples good or bad. I mean lead [teach] by example, your actions, attitudes and life styles are the lessons of the basics.
For example, a simple one : if you read a book before you go to sleep, your kids would likely do the same and make it a habit when they grow up, and if you watch TV before sleeping, they do that and build their lifestyle that way.
Knowlegde is learned differently but when they grow up they will be able to use their knowledge wisely.
