Humans will be kept between life and death in the first suspended animation trials

Quote:At a hospital in Pittsburgh, surgeons are now allowed to place patients into a state of suspended animation. If a patient arrives with a traumatic injury, and attempts to restart their heart have failed — if they’re on the doorstep of death — they will have their blood replaced with a cold saline solution, which stops almost all cellular activity. At this point, the patient is clinically dead — but if the doctors can fix the injury within a few hours, they can be returned to life from suspended animation by replacing the saline with blood.

Or at least, that’s the theory.

[...]

The first step is to replace all of the blood in the heart and brain — the two areas most sensitive to hypoxia — with with cold saline. Then, the saline is pumped around the rest of the body. After 15 minutes, the patient’s temperature reaches 10C — they have no blood, no brain activity, and they’re not breathing. Technically they’re dead — but because the metabolism of your cells slow down at low temperatures, they can survive for a few hours using anaerobic respiration (usually it’s just a few minutes). ”We’ve always assumed that you can’t bring back the dead. But it’s a matter of when you pickle the cells,” said Peter Rhee, who helped developed the suspended animation technique.

[...]

What could possibly go wrong bringing back the dead? popcorn2.gif

If you are interested in this sort of thing take a look at Saul Kent.

He is up to all sorts of things, has his mother's head on ice, has dealt bizarre drugs and into the health business, and cryonics. One of his associates is in charge of excited delirium investigation, training, and understanding of the rage stuff that Miami zombie guy went through.

I've got plenty more if you like this sort of thing about Saul, and excited delirium, so let me know.

I turned myself to consider wisdom and madness and folly
The wise man’s eyes are in his head,
But the fool walks in darkness.
Yet I myself perceived
That the same event happens to them all.

Interesting, I'll never look at life insurance quite the same way after that. The excited delirium investigation interests me greatly.
Hard to believe a drug...
bath salts?
Could induce such bizarre behavior. I've always wondered how much more there was to that incident we were not told about.
I'd love to see some material on this, it's the first I've heard of it.

A lot here, be right back.

Copy and paste style, but I believe all the links are still working.

You want a creepy fella?

Check out Saul Kent.

He has his mother's head on ice, and is in the cryonics business. I think he may even be experimenting on people.

- Any old topic of mine around the Miami zombie time.

Ok we have heard about excited delirium from the media and police as the explanation of what happened.

For clarity, these are the experts who train police, came up with the term, and are considered the leading experts in understanding our "zombie" friend.
And are based out of Miami.

Ok some creepy details about some of those over at the excited delirium place.

The director Deborah Mash, Ph.D.

Dr. Mash has been on the scientific advisory board for the Florida-based Life Extension Foundation

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deborah_Mash

This life extension foundation

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_Extension_Foundation

Its primary purpose is to fund research and disseminate information on life extension, preventive medicine, anti-aging and optimal health, with a focus on hormonal and nutritional supplementation, deriving much of its income from the sale of vitamins and supplements.

The founder of that life extension foundation is Saul Kent.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saul_Kent

Saul Kent is a prominent life extension activist, and co-founder of the Life Extension Foundation, a major dietary supplement vendor and promoter of anti-aging research. He is also a pioneer in the controversial practice of cryonics, and is a board member of the cryonics organization Alcor Life Extension Foundation

Cryonics......

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryonics

Cryonics is the low-temperature preservation of humans and animals who can no longer be sustained by contemporary medicine, with the hope that healing and resuscitation may be possible in the future. Cryopreservation of people or large animals is not reversible with current technology. The stated rationale for cryonics is that people who are considered dead by current legal or medical definitions may not necessarily be dead according to the more stringent information-theoretic definition of death. It is proposed that cryopreserved people might someday be recovered by using highly advanced future technology.

Mr. Kent is also involved in a project called Timeship, which involves building a unique facility designed by architect Stephen Valentine to house companies conducting research in the life extension and reanimation sciences and provide long-term care for cryopreserved humans.

In 2000, Kent appeared on documentary filmmaker Errol Morris
television series First Person, where he discussed in depth his beliefs and motivations, as well as the investigation into the cryopreservation
of his own mother's head so her brain could be restored at a later date

Here is Saul Kent, start at 40 sec.

Ok at this point we have the leading "experts" in Miami over at excited delirium lead by Mash, who is scientific advisory board for the Florida-based Life Extension Foundation in which Saul founded.

Now these experts are who the police and media defer to.

And Saul is also involved with Cryonics.

Saul was charged with many crimes.

On November 7, 1991 Kent & Faloon were arrested and thrown into an 8-by-8 Fort Lauderdale jail cubicle containing several men charged with drug-related crimes. Several hours later they were taken handcuffed before a magistrate who informed them that they were charged with 28 criminal counts, including conspiracy to sell unapproved drugs. After more hours in jail, they were released on $825,000 bail each.

http://www.benbest.com/polecon/fdalef.html

Now more on charges

They're Gonna Live Forever
Federal officials have spent an eternity trying to put the founders of Fort Lauderdale's Life Extension Foundation behind bars

http://www.miaminewtimes.com/1994-06-08/...e-forever/

In conclusion we have a director of an organization, based in Miami responsible for training and educating police and medical officials on Excited Delirium.

Who is on Saul's life extension Panels...

And Saul in the business of freezing people with the intention of reanimating them later, who has been busted with bizarre drugs...and currently has his mother on ice

Right near where this incident happened, and the media and police defer to these "experts".

Sounds like we may have an official Umbrella organization

Quote:This is a list of people who have been cryonically preserved. It is generally difficult to ascertain who is in this state due to medical privacy concerns; however, some cases have been publicized.

Quote:Sleeper is a 1973 futuristic comic science fiction film, written by Woody Allen and Marshall Brickman, and directed by Allen. The plot involves the adventures of the owner (played by Woody Allen) of a health food store who is cryogenically frozen in 1973 and defrosted 200 years later in an ineptly-led police state. The film contains many elements which parody notable works of science fiction.
