I just got off the phone with jb and she sounds like a fighter and a very nice lady.

She explained to me that when she was admitted to hospital there were continuous delays before surgery (suspicious?) then during surgery they connected the donor kidney, but jb explained to me that the kidney 'exploded', so they had to remove it and repair the arteries. There then were subsequent blood clots which shut off the flow of blood to her left leg and right arm (no pulse). She was in surgery for 12 hours and they had to perform life saving procedures to save her life.

They are now wondering if the kidney was viable at the time of surgery due to various factors and she and her husband will hire a lawyer and look into this.

I asked her what the doctor said about this event, and he told her that he had never seen this happen before. (So why did it happen this time?)

jb said she is lucky to be alive, but she is cut up severely and is in pain and has to rest often. She also now has to face problems with her left leg maybe for the remainder of her life, but her right arm seems alright at this time.

jb thanks everyone for their kind words and prayers and she said the prayers worked because she is still alive, however I told her I and everyone were also praying hard for a successful operation.

I also asked her if she will attempt another kidney replacement surgery and she is doubtful, but she will continue dialysis at home, which she said she is accustomed to and well trained in, but travelling is an issue.

Sending more prayers to you jb and your husband for a speedy recovery and finding out what went wrong with the kidney or surgical procedure.

It's horrendous! sad2.gif I hope they get to the bottom of the "exploding" kidney thing, I'm glad they got a lawyer on that right away. Very strange chain of catastrophic events, but like Shadow said, thank heavens you're alive. You must still have some important things to do in life. Hang in there sweetness hug.gif

What a sad thread...

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor
