Wonderful news, but not unexpected. I was wondering when she would take her natural talent and cast it to higher realms.

I hope she gives and receives the best that can be through those technological arts.

Big time congratulations. The news is very exciting!

Now to leave you with a little poem my Norvegen daddy taught me:

A thousand Svedes ran thru the veeds
At the Battle of Copenhagen
A thousand Svedes ran thru the weeds
Chased by by one Norvegen!

Pray for me. hug.gif

Congratulations.

My best friend was/is into game development. Went to Digipen briefly, and Berkeley, and two other colleges.

She may have to take a whole lot of math if computer science is a close background with an enhancement in game development.

My buddy teaches math and computers now, he is changing the school districts educational curriculum and has kids in an elective courses developing video games.

With just a couple of bachelor degrees he even teaches at a state college over the summer because of his knowledge in game design.

You should see what his classroom looks like and the kids love him.

So you do not have to work for a large game company out there, a whole lot you can do too besides build your own business or be someone elses tool.

You must be proud, good job Octo.

Oh I'm proud alright. But teaching is not what my daughter aims for. She applied last year and wasn't accepted, spent the whole last year upping her degrees.

yup.gif

Artistically she has nothing to worry about

Beautiful.

There is so much you can do these days with game design, my buddy can work as much as he likes, and out this way you almost get a math degree too if computer science is the major.

Nothing like hearing about someone close to a dream.

I remember back in the 90's people laughed at the notion to him, boy were they wrong. I can only imagine what the people who are up to date in the field will be able to do like 20 years from now.

Crazy. Games are here to stay.

I've tried to convey to my kids that anything is doable. Well, actually I don't believe that to be a lie. It is, everything is doable. My daughter is very goal oriented and has had her aim set for years.

LOL.

You never know, catch the right niche at the right time, is feasible with something like this.

Those 80's game designers made a lot of money, created companies, fairly famous now.

Online games are very popular, so is online downloads and custom games.

THE RIGHT NICHE AT THE RIGHT TIME? oops, sorry for the caps lock. That's it right here. The gaming industry is basically one of the only few growing sectors here. In fact, the gaming sector is booming.
