I am not your rolling wheels, I am the highway
I am not your carpet ride I am the sky
I am not your blowing wind, I am the lightning
I am not your autumn moon, I am the night

Thanks AS, but I am not looking forward to the long (4.5+ hours) drive up there because my legs tend to fall asleep. However, I just took my daughter to the driver's licence office and I will force her to drive a little - she does not like driving - but I'm pushing her to learn so that she won't have to depend on anyone for a lift.

Thanks Shadow, and they have stargazing (I hope I can actually see the milky way there) and wolf howl listening (evening) activities that interest me.

As for the skeeters, we will be wearing hoodies and sprayed to the hilt with deet.

I think I'll pack my sketch book and coloured pencils.

Vinegar works well too as mosquito repellant. I put a 1/2 cup of vinegar in a bowl with 5 cups water and sponge the horses down with it. It's cheap and effective.

Interesting, that's worth a try considering we've given up the OFF. Nasty stuff.

I suggested that to my daugher, but she said she didn't want to smell like vinegar. And my sis said that she puts apple cider vinegar in all her drinks and that keeps the skeeters away too. I plan to cover up and spray the deet on my clothes and I will bring vinegar to use on any exposed skin...face and hands only. Supposedly, from all the rains they had up there lately there are many and out in full force.

The vinegar smell fades very quickly, 15 minutes or less. And deet is a pesticide. Not sure I'd spray it on my skin or clothing.
