We needed some garden furniture so I got that, a table with 4 chairs. We also needed new espresso cups so I got that too. 5 cups with saucers.

I spent 11 euros on all of the above. Shopping 2nd hand rules! And the money goes to a foundation that builds homes for the elderly here in town! yay.gif

Well it's not exactly rainforest hardwood furniture, just some used resin set but in good shape. I hate that shit but for 8 euros I love them long time. The table also has a hole in the middle for our sunbrella that we got a few years back for a couple of euros at that very same store. yay.gif

We'll be grillin like villains before this weekend is over beerbong.gif

Not only do I love having my money benefit a good cause, buying used clothes also eliminates the chemical factor such as flame retardants and other crap you get when buying NEW stuff. Oh lols, I'm lovin' it.

Well not only that! It's run by the elderly! There's nobody under 70 working there, and they're the coolest of dudes. I love that place!

We have a couple of those places here. One is a Goodwill, but they send all the Goodshit overseas to sell at a huge profit. The other is run by a local church, but their shit is priced more like new shit. They use at least some of the money to operate a shelter for battered mothers. That's cool except that you have to join their church to be sheltered there.

What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice

There's not really any for profit thrift stores around here I'm aware of. Why would there be lol? They can't compete with this stuff. Ok, there's one where you can rent a table / week to sell your stuff so that goes mainly to private pockets and I got a lot of really nice clothes from there, but our favorite clothes store is also run by old people and they physically drive stuff to places that need stuff.

Back in the 90s they took some 8 truckloads of stuff to an orphanage in Russian Karelia. Caused quite a stir at the time to see the conditions of those places, causing local companies to donate all sorts of stuff such as heating systems and other life support systems for unwanted kids. tissueguy.gif

How can I not love shopping there? Where else can I get a pair of Levi's for €1?

And seriously? If our few precious friends come over and refuse to sit on our resin chairs they can go fuck themselves. cheers.gif
