Quote:Barbara Walters returns from retirement for Peter Rodger interview (in a couple of weeks?)

Quote:On Monday, ABC News announced that Walters would soon be back in the interviewer's chair, talking to Peter Rodger, the father of Elliot Rodger, the UC Santa Barbara student who killed seven people, including himself, in a mass-murder rampage in late May.

It should be interesting, especially with Barbara shooting the questions. Rodger requested Barbara specifically.

Barb also received a lifetime achievement award;

Except for that "If you were a tree" question, she was normally a pretty good reporter.

It looks she has learned from her past mistakes. BYW, JR, what type of tree would you like to be?

I would like to be a birch tree because I would be useful and can give so much.

The interview was interesting, in that, he describes how easy it was for his son to hide his illness from most people, as well as lying to the extent that when his mother watched one of his videos and called the police, her son managed to talk his way out of the police investigating further (including not checking for gun possession).

R. Elliott created a website for other people with suspected troubled family members where they can seek help and overcome the stigma.
