A historic earthquake with monstrous destruction may be in the works near Mansfield, Ohio as residents and local TV report strange lights emanating from the ground.

While the local TV Weatherman claims all is well - saying it's only ice crystals in the air - this phenomenon has been seen before in many places just days or hours before a massive earthquake.

Prevalence of Earthquake Lights Associated with Rift Environments

Historic Sightings

Over the centuries, there have been many reports of earthquake lights, both before and while the ground is shaking.

Just seconds before the 2009 L'Aquila, Italy, earthquake, people saw four-inch (ten-centimeter) flames of light flickering above a stone street.

On November 12, 1988, people reported a bright purple-pink globe of light along the St. Lawrence River in Quebec, 11 days before a powerful quake.

People also reported seeing a faint rainbow of light before the great 1906 quake in San Francisco and lights before the devastating 1811-12 New Madrid earthquakes in Missouri.

Freund and colleagues studied such historic accounts going all the way back to the year 1600 and published their findings in Seismological Research Letters.

lmao.gif There's nothing at all mysterious here, with the possible exception of how people in Mansfield Ohio made it out of 6th grade. 13.gif

This has been going on since gas lamps hit cities in the 1800's, if they are sending messages to the home planet to commence an invasion, it sure must be far away.
At this rate, I'd estimate we have a minimum of a couple hundred years before much happens.

Those are search lights though, not light pillars as in the optical phenomenon.

This is what is said about them on Finnish wikipedia:

Quote:Auringonpilari on toiseksi yleisin haloilmiö. Se havaitaan keskimäärin Suomessa jopa 110 kertaa vuodessa.

The Light Pillar is the second most common halo phenomenon in Finland. It's spotted on average 110 times a year.

There's nothing weird or unnatural about it. It's in fact very pretty.

If these aliens have been waiting for humans to invent streetlights to be able to communicate with their home planet, how the hell did they get here in the first place? hmm.gif
