I know that this site isn't about blogs, however I have created accounts on forums dedicated for blogs and either the registration process doesn't work or the account isn't allow to create threads post, or somethings not even allowed to look at many of the areas of the forums.

Since I have been a member of various forums for over ten years, I imagine I have some ability to write stuff which others might read however the thought of creating a blog and writing posts that nobody might even know about is slightly intimidating.

If there would be a theme of a blog I think I might focus on philosophy, but I also willing to have a miscellaneous section and comment on anything that seems interesting; which hopefully might help bring addition people to the site but other than that I'm kind of at a lost as to how to start.

WordPress is what you should probably use. https://wordpress.com/
You'll have to register a domain and find a host.
WordPress.com is offering domains, no ads, and support from $2.99 /mo.

I don't read blogs, I find most bloggers write about stuff that I'm not interested in. You should write about stuff that interests you, not about what you think will interest others.

If you need to ask people what to write about then you probably wont be successful writing a blog. You should know instinctively what to write about..

I'm might join a site like that except I'm completely broke right now (not working,no income) so until I have some money coming in I have to go with free services even if it is not the best for the long term.

Yeah, I'm mostly interested in philosophy but more than willing to write about other stuff that interest me. Or at least write about other stuff on the days that I'm interested in that subject.

It's more of a fear of joining, jumping through all the hoops, and then not having anyone there to read my stuff than not knowing what I want to write about. I have been writing on forums for years and I never have any worries that I won't know what to write about when I visit a forum, although not knowing what to write about while visiting a forum isn't really a bad thing either since it usually saves me a little bit of time in my day.

I just hate the idea of writing a blog or in a quiet forum and have all my work go unnoticed.

I don't think anyone really reads anything I write here, so it wouldn't be an issue with me... chuckle.gif
Yeah... but srsly, I can see that would be a prob. Promoting your blog is another matter entirely.
I suggest social media.
It's not just a case of build it and they will come.

I created a profile on the site. Here is the link:
https://niume.com/profile/115553#!/posts

BTW. I checked out your page and wondering if you have a Pinterest and/or deviantart.com account? I have been using Pinterest for about a month and managed to get 300 followers (who are most likely people who clicked 'follow' while just looking at one of my pins, and may not ever visit my board again). But still if you are hoping to get more awareness of your work it might be worth your time to think about creating accounts with them

Anyways here is my account and a few of my boards:

https://www.pinterest.com/d_clem00/
https://www.pinterest.com/d_clem00/cats-...-pictures/
https://www.pinterest.com/d_clem00/creepy/
https://www.pinterest.com/d_clem00/ufo/
https://www.pinterest.com/d_clem00/conspiracy-theory/

..some of the boards are mostly for myself and others are also meant to get attention from people who have similar interest. Just thought you might want to know.

I wanted to ask but was unable to access the laptop I'm borrowing for a few days, but what part of the stuff I write about do you find interesting? I guess right now my thoughts are treading on the topics of nihilism/ philosophy/ weird/ miscellaneous and managing images on my pinterest board.

I guess the only reason I ask is that while just pratting about the various topics that interest me , I kind of like to also talk about something that might interest others even if doing so is mostly in the hopes they read my other stuff. It's kind of like how I find and 'pin' a lot of cat and funny stuff on Pinterest just in the hopes of gaining a few followers who might be see my other stuff as well. 3beers.gif
