Yeah, those old timey Halloween costumes were seriously creepy.

They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor

Years ago when I took my children out trick or treating, there was a man who dressed up as a scary scarecrow and sat himself down in front of his house, so when you came up the driveway it looked as if it was a decoration because he would lay in wait and not move until you were about to turn towards the front door, then he'd jump up and scare the heck out of everyone, including myself. Many a young child left crying. I am not a fan of scaring little children.

I remember one year I put out a large fake spider web and put varying sizes of spiders in it, and one little child began crying at the sight of it.

I scared the bejesus out of a bunch of kids one halloween many years ago. I was going to pick up my kids from my neighbor's halloween party and decided to dress up real quick. I cut some pointy teeth out of a plastic lid, powdered my face with potato starch, smeared some black currant jam around my mouth and put on a long black coat, rubber boots and a vintage leather motorcycle helmet.

I never heard a bunch of kids high on sugar stfu so fast. lmao.gif They remembered it for years, maybe they still have nightmares about it...

I guess children should expect scary sights, but I felt bad when I the little girl cried at the spider sight, so my decorations after that became more small kid-friendly.

I used to stuff by grandpa's old clothes with newspaper, put old shoes at the end of the pants legs and gloves for hands.
My mom had a Styrofoam wig head, which I covered in a latex devil mask and set it in a chair on the front porch.
So many kids ran away screaming their heads off, and that went on for years. As a side benefit, my grandparents windows never got soaped like the neighbors.
