Quote:Futurists have predicted mind-reading technology for years. And while the detection of brain-wave patterns has been possible for decades, the missing ingredient was the ability to interpret them.

But now, thanks to artificial intelligence (A.I.) and machine learning, we can finally know what’s going on inside people’s minds.

I hope they have safeguards planned because we all know what evil can be done with this technology.

Also:
"Even Facebook has a mind-reading project in the works. The social networking company’s secretive Building 8 division is working on a way for users to send Facebook Messenger messages using thoughts alone."

If there is any indication of how Facebook cannot control privacy, I think it will be used against us.

At what point is this admissible in a court of law and used to jail people for pre crime intent? This will not end well.

We all know how every other facet of society can't keep up with the pace of technology and the expert on this said that from this point, this technology will be moving forward very quickly.

Quote:While most of the brain-computer interface devices that we’ve seen up until this point use EEG to detect brain activity, a device just revealed by a team of researchers at MIT works by measuring subvocalization signals.

Those are the small signals that get sent from your brain to your mouth when you think about speaking but don’t actually speak.

This is where it's going but with AI and who knows what other hardware will be required.

Scary tech. What if police start using this for interrogation?
