Not to be too scientific but if you are able to see the mushroom cloud then you have a good probability to survive. The shockwaves and heat blast would have done most of its damage already before the mushroom cloud forms.

at the military we learned that if you see the mushroom cloud you can basically stop fighting and have a smoke because radiation will kill you anyway. XD

If you never had :panicsex: before the mushroom cloud is a good indicator that it's about time.

Probably need to run some practice drills...in the schools. It sure beats "duck and cover."

why always plural? it's the german "biere", right?^^
anyway in german "biere should always be in your bug out bag" would translate to "biere sollten sich immer in deinem fluchtrucksack befinden" which is weird because we wouldn't use the plural in this case. we would say "bier" (singular).^^

"10 bier bitte!" not "10 biere bitte!"

biere is the grammatically correct form but no one would ever use it.^^ (there's only one exception: you would use it when you meant different kinds of beer - eg "dieses restaurant ist berühmt für seine große auswahl an bieren" or "helles und weizen sind meine lieblingsbiere")

but maybe i'm mistaken and it's not the german biere.^^

If we are to assume terrorists would be the most likely group to try to build and use nuclear bombs, then it is assumed it will be crude and not be a very powerful blast. But, maybe that is why the U.S. gov't has spying on the top of its 'to do' list.

15 kilo nuclear blast and resulting blast wave information...but the article mentions that there are nuclear bombs 50X more powerful - so say 5.5 km x 50 = 275 km away, will be in the killing field. damned.gif

when i first started reading about a-bombs i realized that there would be no safe place in the case of full blown nuclear exchange.
and when i first read about the tsar bomb all hope was gone.
