Every spring the natives mow their lawns damned.gif 4 years ago a neighbor burned to within 20' of my house, the next spring he burned his father's house down. Now I see smoke rising to the South and the West and just waiting to see how close the lawnmower burns this year.

Indians in the South East do the same thing. Burnoffs used to be common, even among non-Natives. Really, it's too bad everyone doesn't do it. All that debris/kindling and dead underbrush would get burned off every year and there would be little threat from fires.

Zackly Kreeper. I've given my pasture a rest for 2 years now and a spark will set it off. But they don't pay attention, they just light a grass fire and watch it go. No backburning, no raking or water gaah.gif one fellow set off a grass fire that had them shut down the hwy, he stood there watching with an ice cream bucket of water rofl.gif I've even chased horses from burning fields into my field where it had been grazed right down.

rofl.gif there's so many geese on the lower mainland that biology students go out each spring and destroy eggs in the nests. I feel bad they flew into electrical wires but damn there's a lot of them.

Some friends of mine took their annual bike ride from Houston up through Colorado and back. Said they fought storms/snow/ice and fire the entire trip, said Texas is on fire. Their eyes were burning and had respiratory issues.

I stay off those Harleys/street bikes. I be smarter and ride dirt/enduro (street legal) motorcycles. Used to race MX but had a high speed collision with a pine tree chuckle.gif

My little 250 gets 67 mpg, modified it to a pretty good little street rat...
