Insiders: Electoral College won't block Trump

There's no way the Electoral College will wrest the presidency away from Donald Trump when electors meet in 50 state capitals on Monday.

That’s according to The POLITICO Caucus — a panel of activists, operatives and strategists in 11 key battleground states.

Of the more than 160 Republican and Democratic insiders surveyed last week, only one thought it was likely that 37 or more GOP electors would defect to deny Trump a majority.

the rest here: http://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/el...ump-232793

That's a safe bet IMO. I would hate to see what happens otherwise uhoh.gif

I never really saw this as a problem. In most States it's illegal to vote for a candidate other than the one chosen by the people.
I'm just hoping to put this MSM whining to bed, and most of all the relief we'll all get when the so called celebrities STFU.
In case they didn't notice, nobody gave a shït about their opinions.

Thing that irks the shït out of me is that no 'news' organization is bothering to inform people exactly HOW the electoral college is picked.

Each political party selectors electors at their conventions. Electors are selected (voted on by other party members) from the ranks of the party's members ~ it's considered an 'honor' and a rubber cookie for being a party apparatchik for getting out the vote, holding rallies and making phone calls, etc. ~ they represent the party 'faithful'!

Each party has its own electors.

The electors voting in each state are the electors from the POLITICAL PARTY that WON the state.

Now really, is it seriously possible for any dyed-in-the-wool political party wonk to actually conceive of voting for the OTHER political party???

The 'electoral college' is not a deliberating body. They have no 'power' ~ it is a ceremonial function. They have MORE to fear by pissing off the voters that voted for their party's candidate by being faithless than death threats by the opposing party.

I wasn't fully familiar with the selection process myself, very interesting, and obviously VERY partisan also.
I guess any wishful thinking about large amounts of Trump electors moving to the H side is just that... wishful thinking.

What would happen if 47 Electors Turned on Trump and Voted for Clinton.?

In Case that happens, the Vote would then be reviewed and decided by the House of Representatives.

And the Republicans Control the House right now,

The Electors Vote: December 19, 2016
We'll fill out this map on December 19th as the vote in each state becomes available. Any votes for someone other than Clinton or Trump, as well as any abstentions, will be grouped as 'Other'. Note that this map is just for presidential electors; it is possible that the count for vice-president is different. Visit our news page, where we'll highlight any votes that go other than expected.

Texas is about to come in and that will push him over 300.

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor
