In your computer bios choose boot from usb drive and there you go problem solved.

Or try a usb stick with this on it http://puppylinux.org/main/Overview%20an...tarted.htm

It's lightweight and secure without the hassle of TOR, which is usually banned here.

Yes JR knows it takes a external drive to isolate it from a hard drive. USB sticks are the best but need to be also upgraded just like a basic soft ware antivirus. It's always cat and mouse.

I heard of discarded flash drives thrown out or just street trash finds. Never put them in to see what's on them. Only buy new flash drives from a trusted name even cheap new flash drives from china could have spyware built in.

Thank you, JR. That's exactly the distro I was going to recommend.

You know? There's a lot of déjà vu in this thread.

CA ~ wtf haven't you installed Linux? Any sort of Linux would be preferable to the cootie-ridden crap of an OS you're using. Not to mention, it is waaay kinder to older 'bargain' computers.

https://tails.boum.org/ Download the iso, burn it to a USB and use it.

tails on a stick is the most secure system yet,
unless you build your own with Arch Linux.
that's a bigger job than most people want
to undertake.
tails gives the spooks nightmares.
