Historians claim to have recovered Holy Grail

Quote:Spanish historians say they have discovered what Monty Python could not — the Holy Grail, the legendary cup Jesus supposedly drank from at the Last Supper.

The Spaniards — Margarita Torres and José Ortega del Río — believe the 2,000-year-old vessel is in a church in León in northern Spain.

The pair spent three years studying the history of the chalice and last week published a book, “The Kings of the Grail,” making their case.

The onyx chalice, they explained, was concealed within another antique vessel known as the Chalice of Doña Urruca, which is located in León’s basilica of Saint Isidore.

The historians said it has been there since the 11th century.

I saw this and was going to post it, but got busy and spaced it. chuckle.gif
Though they claim it is the real deal, I have my doubts.
If you look at how many European Churches have a piece of the cross and put them together, it would make substantially more than one.
"Holy relics" are normally pretty dubious.
The fact it's made of Onyx is one thing it has going for it, however, that was the customary vessel people of the time drank from.
I'm not so certain the holy grail is even a physical object. dunno.gif

I think Jesus would roll his eyes over the incredible importance that has been attached to a cup he once drank from. 13.gif

I think you are right JR, about the grail not being a physical object.

It would appear the grail is an intangible symbol, not a physical thing.

Quote:Whatever the type of vessel, this container is supposed to have held the blood that flowed from the wounds of Christ. The legend says it was brought to England by Joseph of Arimathea when he preached Christianity there. As far back as the first century, the Fisher kings, or the grail keepers, were known custodians of the holy grail in the Castle of Corbenic.

The onyx chalice itself is contained within another antique cup known as the Chalice of Doña Urruca, so Indy might still be right.

So are the saying the Onyx Chalice was bedazzled later on in time?

If so how could they Date stone?

I wonder what that Inscription on the Stem says?

Yes it's not uncommon to have old artifacts bedazzled at some point. 15.gif I understand there were manuscripts to verify some of this.

I'm familiar with it, but I read about it via yourself about 10 years ago or so.
From the material I recall reading on the web, it shows the locations of two treasure sites, one in Colorado and one in New Mexico, but I'm a bit skeptical of those locations.
It's yet to be found from what I gather, and if it was, we'd most likely never hear about it.

If this is the real deal and i cant think of any definite way that it could be proved, now what are they (religious leaders) gonna do with it? make all the people pay to look at it and maybe touch it? like probably?! well not exactly force them to pay,but there will be plenty of collection plates and cash offering containers all over the place waiting in plain sight for everyone to ecstatically fill up again and again wherever this object is on display and as usual follow the money, because that ladies and gentlemen will be the real reason behind the wolves agenda, even if they're disguised in sheeps clothing...
