Was in line at the post office a little before closing time with a dozen people ahead of me in line.

Only four were using their cell phones. coffeetime.gif

Seems like wherever one goes, folks are either looking at their screen or talking into the air on their headsets. It was refreshing to go somewhere where people were acting half way normal.  chuckle.gif

It's weird that people are unable to talk to the people in front of them or near them. They have to be conversing or texting to someone through a machine.[amoff][/amoff]

That's because they are either afraid of triggering the person or they are are afraid of being triggered.

What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice

In Finland it's perfectly normal to not talk to people near them, it's not considered weird at all. Silence is nice and everybody appreciates being left the fuck alone.

Yeah! Personal time for the win.  fkyeah.gif Like for example how I'm not talking to you right now! ;-) (texted from my cell phone which I don't have.)

Q. Since everyone wants to be left the fook alone, why are they texting? Are they letting everyone know they want to be left the fook alone?  chuckle.gif  It's important to let people know what our needs are so that they can respect them.

Are you sure you were in Finland when this happened?

I rarely see anyone texting while waiting in a line here. I'm sure it happens, but not when I'm there.

I wouldn't text by a grammar Yahtzee either.  chuckle.gif

So, the four were under the age of 40 and the rest couldn't set the clock on their VCR back in the 80's? chuckle.gif

Well, that's good enough for me. Mine is in the garbage. To hell with my clients. Send a carrier pigeon.
