Thankfully, we're having a temperate May. I use a swamp cooler, and it is generally enough for the summer.

Does it try to run at all or does it run and not cool?
Usually, it's a simple problem.
Just saying.

The evaporator was pretty dirty so I cleaned it but it is still freezing up almost right away. I'm pretty sure it has a leak and is low on freon. We need to figure out who installed it so he can come fix it.

Okay, you checked your evaporator coil and your air conditioner is still freezing up. The coil (the inside one) can cause a lack of airflow across it, dropping the temperature and causing your air conditioner to freeze up. It is also a recipe for several other unpleasant problems with your AC, like Dirty Sock Syndrome (which is really icky).
So make sure that the fan is blowing air better across the coils! A clean machine is a happy machine!
Good Luck.

Contact the manufacturer of the Unit, it doesn't matter who installed it. I had a similar problem when we bought this house. They will look up the serial number to verify the warranty and suggest a Local company to call. Hot here also in Georgia hit 107 with the heat index yesterday.

Some like it hot, but I sure don't. It's been absolutely perfect with around 21 - 24C. When it hits 30 it's not comfortable for me at all. And this part of the world doesn't come with ACs by default, but we have 188 000 lakes so there's sure to be one you can throw yourself in close by.

I had no idea whatsoever that Finland could

get that warm in the summer.

Very Interesting.

I guess I would be thankful for cold weather.

It keeps the natives subdued.

Researchers: Finns happiest at 14 degrees Celsius

TTL special researcher Sirkka Rissanan pointed out that the most comfortable temperature for Finns is 14 degrees Celsius. At that level, incidents of death and health problems are lowest.
