it was worked by Pre-Columbian Indians
and the reason no one ever worked it ?
it is in a Terrain where you would never expect Silver to be .
It was found by my Dads elderly friend , when he tried to fill a washed out road
by filling it in with his backhole .
he was digging for fill ,,, and ,,,,,,,,, PLOOP ! big vertical shaft opened up
it went down about 12 feet , then at the bottom , a horizontal shaft ran east from it .
Charlie , Dad and myself dug out several pounds together back in 1982 .
then resealed it .
we planted natural brush over the top to blend in with the scenery .
You can stand right on top of it and not tell there is a shaft beneath you .
There are no signs of any silver being in the area either .
in the mine , is a white vein of silver dust about 8 to 10 inches in diameter running
horizontal for who knows how many feet, yards, miles . Charlie said probably ran
for miles .
I know , sounds sweet right ?
try getting a mining claim nowadays .
with all the new Rangers , BLM goons, Sheriffs , all over the back country ,
you can't do anything without some aswinkies eyes on you .
