TOKYO (Reuters) – High levels of a toxic substance called strontium-90 have been found in groundwater at the devastated Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan, the utility that runs the facility said on Wednesday.

Strontium-90 is a by-product of the fission of uranium and plutonium in nuclear reactors as well as nuclear weapons, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says on its website.

The discovery of rising levels of such radioactive material is likely to complicate efforts by the utility, Tokyo Electric Power Co, to get approval to release into the Pacific Ocean what it calls water contaminated with low levels of radiation.

Maybe we can merge it after it's run it's course, but I agree it should get attention.

Quote:Strontium-90 is a "bone seeker" that exhibits biochemical behavior similar to calcium, the next lighter group 2 element. After entering the organism, most often by ingestion with contaminated food or water, about 70–80% of the dose gets excreted. Virtually all remaining strontium-90 is deposited in bones and bone marrow, with the remaining 1% remaining in blood and soft tissues. Its presence in bones can cause bone cancer, cancer of nearby tissues, and leukemia.

Everything is not okay. Governments and industry telling the truth about anything is a rarity, it's all one big bull shit fest to avert a sheep stampede, while they continue to promote the same thing that caused the dilemma to begin with.
It's all about maintaining the status quo, keeping the same groups in a position where they enjoy their delusions of grandeur, illusions of power, and most importantly; pocket the money from us all that we turn over to them to pay for our demise.
Important to realize we all all ruled by a parasitic class that could not exist if we all had the testicular fortitude to say no.
