Here's the bottom line. One of Penn State's assistant coaches, Jerry Sandusky was molesting students/minors on campus. An eye witness reported his raping a boy in the showers of the football complex. Paterno and others turned a blind eye. (The list of blind eyes iincludes: athletic director Tim Curley, vice president Gary Schultz and president Graham Spanier. They at least had the decency to resign.) Now that it has finally come to light and Sandusky, Paterno's right hand and heir apparent, was arrested, Joe Paterno was fired. He didn't even have the decency to resign.
So, now that this coach who hasn't had a decent team in years, who turned a blind eye to his right hand man raping boys and refused to even resign as if he were completely innocent in this matter has been fired, what is the reaction of the student body?
What the fuck is wrong with them?
What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice
